For the leader who already knows

Every company is a body. Most are only managed as minds.

I come from VP-level operations in manufacturing and distribution. That means P&Ls, vendor negotiations, teams of real people having tough days. I have sat in the Monday meeting where the numbers said one thing and the room said another. Every leader knows that moment. The spreadsheet describes the pulse. It does not describe the body. 29 Degrees Consulting reads the body. Exactly who truly carries it, where your people push back, and when the window opens for your next move. Written, dated, checkable.

Measurement scale · degrees of arc · 0°–30° 00°00'

The 29th degree is the last degree of a sign: the point where a pattern is fully formed and about to change state. Every finding in a 29 Degrees dossier is a measurement, stated in degrees and minutes of arc, ranked by precision, and checkable against an ephemeris. If it isn't tight, it isn't in the findings.

D·01 · The instrument
Plainly

Yes, the instrument is astrology. Here is why that should not scare you.

I spent years running operations and used everything the corporate world offers to understand people. All the personality assessments, working-style profiles, the whole battery. I quietly used charts alongside them which produced accurate findings. They kept being right about things the assessments never saw.

So I stopped apologizing for the instrument and started engineering a method. You are not asked to believe anything. You are asked to read the findings and test them against what you already know is true about your own company.

Rule 01 · Measured, or it's out

Findings are ranked by orb (angular precision). Loose contacts are labeled context and never treated as findings. Data limits are stated up front, in the document.

Rule 02 · Plain language, always

Function first: "the controller's analysis flows with the company's growth function." The technical layer lives in the appendix, where it can be audited.

Rule 03 · Falsifiable timing

Timing windows come with dates. You will know whether the read was right. Most consulting can't say that.

D·02 · Anatomy
The company as a body

Twelve functions. One organism.

Departments are organs. Cash flow is circulation. Culture is the nervous system, and it keeps score long before the quarterly report does. Some organs are strong, some are compensating, some are quietly failing while the numbers still look fine. The diagnostic maps all twelve functions and tells you which ones carry the real weight in yours.

Body before mind: teams run on how people are built long before they run on what people say in meetings. The anatomy shows you where your company's strength actually sits, which is rarely where the org chart says it does.

D·03 · Method
Six layers, in order

The diagnostic sequence.

Inception chart

Your company's founding moment, cast and independently verified to the arcminute. Data limits stated before findings begin.

Anatomy map

All twelve functions located and weighed. Which carry the weight, which are compensating, which are unstaffed.

Findings

The diagnosis, ranked by measurement precision. Every finding carries its orb, so you can see how much weight it deserves. 0°07' · near exact 1°23' · strong 2°38' · context only

Friction table

Person to person: where your key people naturally flow together and where they grind, independent of who's right. This is usually where the revenue leak lives.

Timing map

Dated windows for the decisions you're already circling: the hire, the launch, the renegotiation. Windows come with calendar dates, not vibes.

Prescription

What to do, in plain operational terms. Every finding closes with an action you could start Monday.

D·04 · Sample
Judge the work, not the pitch

Read a full dossier before you spend a dollar.

Ridgeline Supply Co. is a complete diagnostic run on a demonstration company: inception chart, anatomy, ranked findings, friction table, timing map, and prescription, with the full technical appendix so anyone can audit the measurements.

If the sample doesn't make you want to see your own company on the table, we're done, no pitch. That's the whole test.

Where the work is strongest

I don't interview your people.

Interviews give you what people are prepared to say. By the time an answer reaches words it has been edited twice, once for the room and once for the boss. You already have that version.

So I don't talk, I watch. Who leans in and who leans back. Who stops talking when a particular person walks in. Where the pace changes and where it stalls. Which two people never end up on the same side of a room. The body settles these questions long before anyone says them out loud, and bodies never lie.

And here is the part that matters because I'm not referring to impressions. Before I arrive, a sealed field brief is in your hands. It is written before I arrive stating what I expect to see. Then I watch. After the onsite visit the full reading is written with everything the day surfaced woven into the document. The brief proves the instrument. Being onsite deepens the reading all the way to the floor.

Body before mind. It's how I ran a team for years before I had a name for it.

Sealed before arrival

The field brief is written from the charts alone and delivered before I walk in, dated. You hold the predictions. Then you watch them surface.

Nothing staged, nothing recorded

Nobody is questioned, pulled off the floor, or asked to prepare anything. Your day runs the way it runs, because what I need to see only happens when nothing is arranged for my benefit.

Openly present

You introduce me as a consultant walking the operation, which is true. Present, not hidden.

The dossier, after

The full reading is written after the visit, chart and floor woven together, with the sealed brief scored inside it: what was predicted, what appeared, where the two came apart. Judge the instrument on that page.

The same twelve people, seen twice: structure, remembering it is a constellation.

Book the day

An Observation Day is up to five on-site hours in one business day, scheduled to the operation's natural rhythm. The sealed field brief arrives before the visit; the full dossier follows within seven days, with the brief scored inside it. Worked example: a company reading, three people layered in, and an Observation Day comes to $8,400. Held against one wrong promotion or a partner split, that is a rounding error. Larger teams and ongoing advisory: scoped by inquiry.

D·07 · Founder
Origin
"It came from the floor, not from theory. Body before mind is what made things flow."
Kari Bennett Founder · 29 Degrees

Years running operations teams in commercial foodservice equipment: manufacturing and distribution, real floors, real payroll, real consequences. The method exists because I wanted to know what made my people tick beyond a paycheck, and the map kept being accurate. Grew up in one LA, spent a decade in the other. Reading from New Orleans, Louisiana.

D·08 · Questions
Asked and answered

The three questions everyone asks.

Is this astrology?

Yes. Practiced as a measurement discipline: exact data, verified calculations, tight orbs, findings you can audit. You're buying the rigor, not the belief.

What do I actually receive?

A written dossier in plain business language: anatomy, ranked findings, friction table, timing windows with dates, and a prescription of concrete actions. Technical data lives in an appendix. It reads like an engineering report, because it's built like one.

Do my people have to believe in it?

No. Nobody on your team needs to believe anything, and nobody's chart is shared with anyone but you. The findings either match what you see on the floor or they don't. Judge them there.

D·09 · Inquiry
One conversation

Put your company on the table.

Bring the deck. Bring the org chart. I have read both kinds of documents for years; now I read the sky over them too. Send the basics: your company, roughly what's grinding, and which engagement you're circling. You'll get a straight answer about whether the diagnostic can help, and a start date if it can.

Nature of the work

29 Degrees provides interpretive consulting and decision support. It is not legal, financial, investment, accounting, tax, medical, psychological, or human-resources advice, and it is not a substitute for the licensed professionals who provide those services.

Your decisions stay yours

Findings, friction tables, and timing windows are analytical interpretation offered to inform judgment. No business outcome is promised or guaranteed. Decisions made during or after any engagement, and their results, remain the sole responsibility of the client.

Not an employment instrument

Reports are prepared for the principal's strategic judgment. They are not to be used as the sole or determining basis for hiring, termination, promotion, compensation, or discipline of any individual, and no report should ever be an employee's personnel record.

Data and confidentiality

Birth data and company information are used solely to prepare your engagement, held in confidence, and never sold or shared. Individual analyses are delivered to the client alone and to no one else, including the individuals analyzed.

Timing windows

Dated windows are analytical estimates for planning, not predictions of events and not guarantees of results. They are one input to a decision, never the decision.

Terms of engagement

Engagements are confirmed in writing before work begins, with scope, fees, travel terms, and delivery dates stated. Payment of an invoice or checkout constitutes acceptance of these terms. Fees compensate professional analysis and time: once work is delivered they are not refundable, and disagreement with the findings is not grounds for refund. Liability for any engagement is limited to the fees paid for it. Services are for business use, clients 18 and over.
